This I Believe

I believe that life isn’t fair. A reason I think life isn’t fair is what stuff you have I don’t usually have as much stuff as my friends they have x boxes and big TVs and all of these other things and all I have is a medium sized TV and a wii a reason why I think this happened is because they all have older siblings so the older siblings have introduced them to everything and already have some of the things for them selves and you can use them. I am the first child in my family and I didn’t have candy until I was 5 and my little brother has had it since he was 3. I also didn’t get a game boy until I was in first grade and now he gets my old one for free I had to pay for mine and for all the games. Also I got a wii a year ago, my first game console, and he is playing it in prep senior! Another thing I don’t think is fair is that I always move and leave my friends behind and my house and everything that is there I have lived in 3 different countries other that Canada and in between the moves to different countries I always move back to Canada a total of 6 moves not including the moves of houses in Canada and Moscow. I think these things aren’t fair but I am very lucky all the same some people would be glad to even have a TV or a game boy and would like to move to a different country another reason why life isn’t fair. But I also believe that if people try hard enough they can change the world and make it fairer if not completely fair. I chose my image because I think it is one of my examples of unfairness.

Response to The Holocaust

Is it right to bring your family and or relatives into danger because of someone elses unjust treatment? There is no right answer. In Rose Blanche and The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas they help the Jews and bring harm to their families because of it. Does this mean you shouldn't do it? NO, people need to be respected for who they are and what religion they practice you don't have to help them because your family will get hurt but if you do something and your family gets hurt I think they will understand why you did it and maybe that will lessen the hurt knowing it was for a good cause. In the Boy in the Striped Pyjamas his family agreed with the unjust treatment so they didn't appreciate what he did but they still got hurt because he died and maybe that brought them to understand what these unjust camps were doing to other families and thus were against them.
